However living where I do I awoke to look out of the window and find a winter wonderland - again ! It had crept up on us overnight and the challenge of driving 3.5 hrs to University then became a much bigger challenge ! So I set off with food and drink supplies for the journey and of course my snow boots, warm coat, gloves, hat etc just in case I became stranded and needed to hike home.
I managed to reach half-way up a very long rural road that allows me to access the M1 motorway I needed to take to continue my journey - then I reached a stop as the weather began to worsen and visibility was poor, at which point the authorities decided to shut the road. My journey had come to an end :(
So I turned myself around and headed for home to find my family were just waking from their slumber to begin their work and school days. But alas no - both schools were shut for lack of teachers so it was Another snow day.
Luckily through technology, life went on for me and I managed to take part in an element of the induction day and meet Alan and Paula by way of Skype. Although extremely tired after my early rise the day ended on a postive note as I now feel I understand what is required from me for my journey of study and I can begin to move forward.................
